V.K. Raman gave an impressive recital and his Katina sadhana has favoured him with a praise worthy hold over the technique of the demanding instrument. He had an amazing lungpower with which the continuity of the flow of the sound could be maintained and above all the vocal based renditions did create a desirable impact.
              
"REFINED TONAL QUALITY"
V.K. Raman let his concert take a course that served well artistically and aesthetically. Irrespective of whose composition he was handling, he made it extremely musical and expressive and bringing to bear on his interpretation sweetness and sensitivity of tone that proclaimed his deep understanding of the music. A refined tonal quality pervaded the entire concert and peak of the performance was touched in Yadukula Kambhoji with some captivating gliding sancharas. A lot of soulful music flowed from the heart to cherish and for the mind to treasure in its memory
                

"GLORIUS and COMPREHENSIVE"
V.K. Raman gave a sparkling picture of the Mohana Raga in his melodious flute recital. With due accent on the spirit of the raga, he appealed to the knowledgeable audience gathered in large numbers.

 

The stamp of elegant dignified concert worthiness informed the entire musical proceedings in a flute recital by V.K Raman. Quaint and tricky sruthi ranjani were of high quality. The elaborated version of Bindumalini had splendid technical decoration

V.K Raman gave a melodious flute recital with due accent on the sprit of the Raga.

V.K. Raman, a talented young artiste selected sidhivinayakam for detailed elaboration, marked for its melodic aplomb. He presented Nagumomu with good swaraprasthara and great feeling.

V.K Raman, who gave the Ramanavami inaugural concert, is fast emerging as a prominent flute player of the state.  A cascading variety of swara was added to the invocatory vathapi. The melodic grace of the raga was brought out effectively. It was steady and remarkable for its tonal flourish and was a reassuring concert by the young artiste.

"MELLIFLUENT INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC"

Young but experienced Instumentalist Raman vied with his accompanist to establish his credentials once again. Raman in his melodious flue selected the piece de resistance, a Pallavi in Dharmavathi raga with dazzling array of swara prasthara.

  

At the same venue, V.K Raman, whose flute recitals have become as popular over the AIR as elsewhere was as impressive. Varali (Eti Janma found Raman in a more expansive mood, the alap meandering leisurely over the gamut to arrive at a stately portrayal of the raga

"Engrossing flute recital"

Whether it was a sensitive kriti like Terateyagrada (Gowlipantu) or the alap for Bhushavali the musical flow was graceful. There was something at once primal  & cerebral in Raman’s artistry.

Talented flutist V.K Raman has won popularity in abundance. His concert was as reassuring as ever. The alap for Anandabhairavi saw him in an ebullient mood and the familiar krithi Marivere was played with right amount of melodic fervor.

"When the Veena meets the flute"

Jugalbandhis sure are a bonanza when two top artistes come together to stir it up. Sur Milan is one such delightful experience. Young flute master V.K Raman and Veena virtuoso Suma Sudheendra dive into the ocean of carnatic music and come out with pearls.

Bangalore V.K. Raman’s flute performance was pure to the core. Ragam kharaharapriya was melodies with methodical development. The Sawal-Javab, conversation like spinning of notes between the flute and the mridangam was a treat to the music lovers.
