Raman was initiatd to music by his mother Mrs Geetha Venkat .

She has been a constant source of inspiration throught his musical journey.

Raman got married to Srividhya on 11th June 1997. Raman's wife Srividhya is deeply intersted in light music and film Playback singing. She also plays the Veena & learnt it from Revathy Murthy of AIR Bangalore.

Raman plans to produce an album with his wife Playing the Veena & his brother playing the Violin. 

on June 12 1999 Raman was blessed with a cute daughter .Raman named her as Megha Ranjani .. after the Hindhusthani Rag " Megh " & Carnatic Ragam "Ranjani " she is 5 years old now shows great interest in music.

Raman's brother Srikanth is an accomplished violinist in the Indian Classical Tradition

The brothers are planning a nation wide performance tour of USA in 2005
